Longden, Walker and Renney Solicitors is seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Solicitor with 5+ years PQE to become the new head of our growing Dispute Resolution department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to play a leading role in our fast-growing Dispute Resolution team, handling a broad and varied caseload of contentious matters.
The role is based at our head office on John Street, Sunderland, although flexible working arrangements will be considered for the right candidate based within the North of England who wishes to work partly from home.

Key Responsibilities
• Leading and supervising the Dispute Resolution team & associated management responsibilities
• Managing a varied caseload of dispute resolution matters including civil and commercial disputes.
• Advising clients on litigation strategy, risk and dispute resolution options including negotiation, mediation and settlement.
• Conducting matters through all stages of litigation including pre-action protocol compliance, issue of proceedings, case management and trial preparation.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and settlement documentation.
• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering clear, commercially focused advice.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across departments to support firm-wide client service.
• Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth of the Dispute Resolution team.
Requirements
• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with 5+ years PQE in dispute resolution or civil litigation.
• Experience managing a litigated caseload with appropriate supervision.
• Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and case management abilities with attention to detail.
• A proactive, commercially aware and team-orientated approach.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of client care.
