Our Team

Susan Darbyshire-Norman

Front of House Coordinator - Receptionist

Known for her warm, chatty nature and the time she always makes for clients, Susan is often the first person our clients meet. Whether that’s over the phone or in person as they arrive at our office, she always makes them feel welcome and enjoy getting to know a little about their lives along the way.

Susan’s natural ability to connect with people allows clients to quickly feel relaxed in her company, and one of the things she loves most about the role is that no two days are the same – and it’s not unusual for clients to pop in just to say hello.

Away from work

Born and raised in Sunderland, where she lives with her husband, Susan is a proud mum who enjoys an active lifestyle and loves spending time outdoors. She attends weekly Boxercise classes and loves nothing more than long countryside walks, especially scenic routes around Windermere and the Yorkshire Dales.

She’s also a Sunderland football fan and, although she doesn’t have a season ticket, she watches as many matches as possible on TV and is enjoying their recent return to the Premier League.

Do you have a favourite music or musical artist?

I love a good beat and I love my dance music, which goes back to my days of partying in Ibiza, and my husband makes me wear headphones in the house.  I also love a bit of Motown, Fleetwood Mac, and more modern stuff like Ben Howard.

Do you have a favourite food?

Anything spicy – I love a good Indian and Chicken Tikka Masala is my favourite but I always order it to come extra spicy. I do love chocolate and red wine too!

What TV show, film or boxset would you recommend to others?

I’ve watched every season of Bridgerton and love it alongside The Traitors, Film wise, I’m a massive fan of the Marvel series but I don’t mind a good comedy too – you can beat a good laugh!

Do you have a favourite book and why?

I read regularly to help me relax and can often be found with a psychological thriller in my hand, especially one from Freida McFadden. I do love a romance too, especially and JoJo Moyes is one of my favourite authors.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

It’s got to be the Yorkshire Dales because when I’m there it’s the only time I feel truly relaxed. I used to go parting in Ibiza, so times have changed!

Is there a smartphone App you could not live without?

WhatsApp for keeping in touch with all my friends and arranging to do things.

What person would you most like to meet and why?

I once attended Prince’s legendary after show parties in London back in the day, but I’d love to meet Tina Turner. her music is different class.

Personable, communicative, friendly, empathetic and witty.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?

Worry far less.
