Hospice says thank you for our support

WE are delighted to have received a heartfelt thank-you note from St Benedict’s Hospice for helping to sponsor and support their annual ‘Light up a Life’ service.

Held at the Beacon of Light on December 4, the service allows people to come together and remember loved ones who have passed away by placing beautiful photos on a memory wall or hanging messages on a mini dedication tree.

Led by hospice Chaplain Rebecca Amoroso, traditional carols were performed by the Salvation Army Band and Inspire Ladies Choir, before those in attendance listened to a reading and ‘Christmas Memories’ poem, written by Sandy Siewers.

Having supported the Hospice for many years during their ‘Make A Will’ month, we were thrilled again to give our backing to the event.

And before we break off for the festive period, it was heartening to receive some very kind words from the Hospice staff.

“Thank you so much for choosing to support St Benedict’s Hospice this year. Not only have you supported our Make a Will Month but you have also donated towards the costs of our Light up a Life service.

“This has been so gratefully received and has made such a difference in allowing us to put on what we think was our best service yet.

“Please know that you have made such a difference to those who are remembering someone this Christmas and also those who are receiving our services over the festive period.

“On behalf of everyone at the hospice, thank you, have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

Lovely words from a local charity which does so much to support local people. We look forward to helping them as much as we can during the next 12 months.
