Caitlin Sykes
Solicitor - Clinical Negligence
Kind-hearted and caring, Caitlin says the most rewarding part of her role as a Clinical Negligence Solicitor is helping clients secure the treatment they need and supporting them in rebuilding their lives.
Since graduating with a Law Degree from Leeds Beckett University in 2021, Caitlin completed her LPC at Northumbria University a year later before securing a Training Contract and qualifying as a solicitor in March 2024. She is a member of the North East Medico-Legal Law Society and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
Away from work
Caitlin lives on the coast with her partner and their much-loved sausage dog, Scooby Doo. Originally from North Shields, she has now settled in Monkseaton, a coastal village near Whitley Bay, just a short walk from the beach.
An active lifestyle is important to Caitlin, who has completed the 5 Peaks Challenge and the Northumberland Walk. She enjoys keeping fit at the gym and taking part in classes such as yoga, spin and Boxing Burn. She’s also a keen (and competitive) tennis player.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
Sam Fender is definitely one of my favourite artists and I loved going to his gig at St James Park, but I do have a varied taste and like a bit of everything.
What’s your favourite food?
I can never resist anything Italian but a good homemade Lasagne is definitely my go-to choice in a restaurant.
What film or boxset would you recommend to others?
I’m happy to watch almost any film – from chick flicks to horror movies. But my favourite box set is Game of Thrones.
Do you have a favourite book and why?
The Kite Runner is my all-time favourite, but I do enjoy reading anything by Stephen King. I think his best book is Fairytale, about a teenager who inherits a portal to a parallel world.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
Italy is an amazing country and I love visiting Rome because of its history, architecture and fantastic wine.
Is there a smartphone App you could not live without?
I’m always very busy, so I’m obsessed with my Planner but I could not be without Spotify either.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t worry so much.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Honest, hard-working, friendly, caring and organised.
