Peter Durham
Associate Solicitor – Wills, Trusts & Probate
Confident and easy to chat with, Peter has gained over a decade of experience in the legal industry since completing his LPC in 2014, having earned a Law Degree from the University of Derby the year prior.
He began his career as a conveyancer, before moving into Wills, Trusts & Probate and becoming head of department at a Newcastle-based firm. Peter takes pride in helping people through what can be a difficult time, building friendly and supportive relationships along the way.
Originally from Essex, Peter currently lives in Cleadon with his wife and their two young girls, who they enjoy taking for family days out and walks along the coast.
What are your main interests or hobbies?
Being a dad of two takes up most of my spare time but I do like watching Formula 1 and would like to go and watch a live race one day.
What music do you like – any specific genre or artists?
I like a bit of rock or Indie so I’d probably say Guns N Roses, Foo Fighters or Oasis are my favourites.
What’s your favourite food?
On the rare occasions we get the chance to go for a child-free meal, my wife likes to be adventurous and take us to try new dishes but I do like a good fillet steak too.
What TV show, film or boxset would you recommend to others?
I’m a massive Lord of The Rings fan and have watched the extended version more than once. I also enjoy a good whodunnit, especially the Knives Out series and the Kenneth Branagh Poirot series. TV wise, I like reality shows, so I’d probably recommend The Apprentice or Traitors.
What is your favourite holiday destination?
For our honeymoon, my wife and I did a tour of America’s big three – San Francisco, LA and Las Vegas – which was awesome and I’d love to go back one day.
Is there a smartphone App you could not live without?
Whilst I try to avoid going on my phone too much, I do love WhatsApp for staying in touch with friends and family.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Friendly, personable, Honest, direct and dedicated.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t worry. Be kinder to yourself. It will all work out in the end, it always does!
