Solicitor & Head of Dispute Resolution
An experienced Solicitor and Head of our Dispute Resolution team, Tom has gained a wealth of experience in civil litigation, advising individuals and businesses on employment matters and complex commercial disputes.
Since qualifying in 2020, he has also conducted personal injury claims, guiding clients from first instruction through to settlement or trial. Known for his efficient and cost‑effective approach, Tom is particularly strong at managing high‑value and technically challenging cases. Before moving into private practice, Tom worked in the insurance sector, where the fast‑paced environment gave him a deep understanding of risk management and commercial decision‑making.
Having studied at Northumbria University, Tom graduated in 2016 with a Law Degree and LPC Masters. He enjoys the variety of cases that his role brings and finds real satisfaction in helping people overcome difficult situations. Building strong relationships with clients is something he values highly.
Away From Work
By his own admission, Tom is sports mad. Born and raised in Newcastle, he is a proud Newcastle United season ticket holder and goes to every match with his twin brother. He is just as happy watching cricket, football and Formula 1. He’s also a keen golfer.
When he is not playing or watching sport, Tom loves spending time with his son, Freddie, who is six, and exploring the North East coast. His favourite walk is taking in the views from Seahouses to Bamburgh.
What’s your favourite type of music or musical artist?
I don’t actually have a favourite as such because I like so many different genres – anything from pop and indie to 80s music, rap and anything in between.
Do you have a favourite food?
I really like sushi, but I don’t have one favourite dish – I’m happy to switch it up and like to try new things.
What TV show or boxset would you recommend to others?
I’m currently watching Yellowstone but the Sopranos would be my top TV recommendation.
Do you listen to any podcasts?
I’m really into boxing and UFC so I enjoy listening to The Fight Disciples Podcast every week.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Reliable, approachable, efficient, calm and a good listener.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
No idea – ask me in 10 years’ time and I’ll give you a much better answer!
