Peter’s promotion to Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate Department strengthens key leadership team

LONGDEN, Walker & Renney Solicitors is delighted to be strengthening its senior team with the promotion of experienced solicitor Peter Durham to Head of our Wills, Trusts & Probate Department.

Since joining us at the start of 2026, Peter has made a significant impact on the department and the wider firm. His leadership experience, approachable manner and ability to build strong, supportive relationships with both clients and colleagues have quickly made him an invaluable member of the team.

Peter succeeds Laura Robinson as Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate, allowing her to devote greater focus to her role as Joint Managing Director alongside Alixandra Cadden-Young.

“Peter has many years of experience in Wills, Trusts and Probate and Conveyancing, and he has been a brilliant addition for us,” reflected Laura, who has now become Head of Private Client & Property.

“His deserved promotion is testament to Peter’s hard work and commitment to the department and to us as a firm. I have no doubt that his team will continue to go from strength to strength with Peter at the helm.”

Peter, who has previous experience as head of department at a Newcastle firm, is looking forward to drawing on that knowledge in his new role. Known for building strong, supportive relationships with colleagues and clients, he feels well placed to lead the team into its next chapter.

Reflecting on his promotion, Peter said: “I was made to feel part of the team from my very first day, so it’s a real privilege to now be leading the Wills, Trusts & Probate department. My aim is to build on the success we’ve already achieved and continue to take the department forward.

“I’m excited about bringing some fresh ideas to the role and exploring how we can modernise and improve some of our processes. Ultimately, I’m keen to make the whole client experience and the way people receive advice from us even better.

“We’re in a brilliant position where our clients trust us and recommend us to other people because of the quality of service we provide. That’s something I’m incredibly proud of, and I’m determined to make sure we continue to build on that reputation going forward.”

In another welcome boost, former Managing Director Neil Heavisides has returned to fee-earning work with our Clinical Negligence Department, bringing extensive experience and a wealth of knowledge.

His part-time return is a significant addition to our established team and reflects our continued commitment to investing in specialists who can help our clients at every stage of their case.
